HOMEPLANE - intelligent home networking

Since June the 1st , 2008, Alltec is the new partner in a national research project  called “HOMEPLANE”. On the basis of established standards innovative approaches for the intelligent connected home are developed and tested. Besides AllTec other institutes like the institute for innovative microelectronics IHP, the Corporate Technology of the Siemens AG, the European Microsoft Innovation Centre and the Technical University Dortmund participate on the HOMEPLANE project. HOMEPLANE HOMEPLANE is a project which is promoted by the german federal ministry for Economy and Technology (BMWi) within the initiative ‘next generation media – networked Work and Living worlds’. The goal is it to develop a concept for a wireless home network. In the centre of attention is the further development  and the optimisation of existing WLAN-Technologies for high-rated multimedia applications as well as the development of solutions for an intelligent house control. Exploratory focuses of AllTec The development of an interface to house automation which will take care of the connection of the house devices into the home network is the main concern of AllTec. Furthermore AllTec is responsible for the implementing of a graphic user interface.  This graphic user interface will realise an easy and flexible controlling of the home network by the user and can be accessed at every different end device. Project result Besides the mentioned exploratory focuses AllTec is responsible for the technical interaction of all developed components in the project. It is the goal to make the advantage of HOMEPLANE for the end consumer enjoyable and to give a closer look of living in the future. Starting from spring 2009 HOMEPLANE developments can be seen and tested in a model house of a prefabricated house producer called HANLO-house nearby Leipzig/Dölzig. Homepage: www.hanlo.de
