The airport Leipzig-Halle offers very good conditions for intercontinental passenger and freight traffic. Since 2007 the airport has had two parallel take-off and landing runways. The reconstruction of the south runway meant a parallel system could be operated together with the north runway, which is, like the south runway, also 3600m long.

Lighting control
The new European air cargo hub of DHL came into service at Leipzig-Halle airport at the end of the first half of 2008. AllTec built switchgears for the lighting control on the apron in front of the logistics centre.
